iQOO 12 Pro and iQOO 12: Official Look and Specs

iQOO, a sub-brand of Xiaomi, has launched two new flagship smartphones in China: the iQOO 12 Pro and the iQOO 12. These are the first devices to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which is the most powerful processor for Android phones. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 offers up to 30% faster performance and up to 70% faster AI processing than its predecessor, the Snapdragon 888 Plus.

iQOO 12 Pro: A premium powerhouse

The iQOO 12 Pro is the more premium model of the two, with a 6.78-inch 2K Samsung E7 AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, a peak brightness of 2700nits, and a 1440Hz PWM dimming. The display also supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision and has an ultra-sonic in-display fingerprint scanner. The iQOO 12 Pro has a quad-camera setup on the back, consisting of a 50MP OV50H main sensor with OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 64MP OV64B telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom, and a laser autofocus module. The front camera is a 16MP shooter.

The iQOO 12 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, paired with an Adreno 750 GPU, LPDDR5x RAM, and UFS 4.0 storage. The phone runs on Android 14 with the iQOO UI on top. The battery capacity is 5100 mAh, which supports 120-watt wired charging that can fully charge the phone in just 15 minutes. The phone also has an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, WiFi 7, Bluetooth version 5.4, NFC, an IR blaster for remote control, dual stereo speakers, an extra-large X-axis linear motor for haptics, and a 4D game vibration feature.

iQOO 12: A slightly toned-down version

The iQOO 12 is a slightly toned-down version of the iQOO 12 Pro, with some differences in the display, camera, battery and design. The iQOO 12 has a 6.78-inch 1.5K BOE OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, a peak brightness of 3000nits, and a 2160Hz PWM dimming. The display also supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, and has an in-display fingerprint scanner. The iQOO 12 has a triple-camera setup on the back, consisting of a 50MP OV50H main sensor with OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 64MP OV64B telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom. The front camera is also a 16MP shooter.

Price and availability

The iQOO 12 Pro and the iQOO 12 are currently available for pre-order in China, with official sales starting on November 1st.

These prices are based on the official announcement by iQOO in China. There is no word on the global availability of these phones yet.
