So, what do you think that how this happened? Yes, the email she received was fake. This process is known as a cyberattack in which a third party (unauthorized access) has all the details and the person who did all this is known as a hacker.
She can save herself from this all fraud or fake email messages with help of cyber security. Cyber Security secures all the data, information, and network in computers. It is a technique that secures digital networks, data, and computer systems from all unauthorized access. There are many techniques to apply to cyber security. It just depends on what kind of network you are connected to and the type of cyber attacks in which you suffer losses.
Now let’s see an example of how she can save herself from a cyber attack with the help of cyber security.
She installed a firewall in which the firewall filters the incoming and outgoing traffic from your device and safeguards your network. It can be a software application. And then implemented honey pots which are used to attract attackers. In addition, she can also put unique alphanumeric passwords to use antivirus software. Then started avoiding emails from unknown senders.
Many big companies/organizations or people face lots of money loss due to these cyber-attacks but since then cyber security has come, and there’s not that much loss of people or companies’ money. There’s improvement in the digital market in many ways and people can save themselves from the loss because of cyber-attacks with the help of cyber security.
Types of Cyber-Attacks-
- Malware Attacks-
- Malware attacks are one type of malicious software. It causes damage to any computer, server, or network without end-user knowledge. It’s had many types like viruses, trojans, ransomware, etc.
- Phishing Attacks-
- In phishing attacks, hackers send fraudulent emails to anyone. This is done to install malware or to steal data like credit or debit card information and login credentials.
- Man-in-the-middle Attacks-
- Here the hackers gain access to the information path between anyone’s devices and their websites (which usually they use). The hackers try to take over the IP addresses and the website intercepted them. This can be happening because of an unsecured Wi-Fi network and can be through malware too.
- Password Attacks-
- This is the easiest attack anyone can do. Anyone’s password can be cracked or tried by using common passwords like ABC123.So, this is the most common type of cyber-attack people are facing nowadays. You must be thinking that which companies provide security against it.
