Apple Watch has a feature called "Fall Detection" that can detect any kind of accident or hard fall with the wearer. The feature utilizes the watch’s accelerometer and gyroscope to detect falls. If the watch detects a hard fall, it will send an alert to the wearer asking if they are okay. If the wearer doesn't respond within 60 seconds, the watch will automatically call emergency services.
Apple Watch uses two sensors that detect impacts to detect if the user has been in a car crash. The sensors can detect up to 256g force and sample motion up to 4x faster than their predecessors. When a crash is detected, the device will automatically connect the user to emergency services, provide their location, and notify emergency contacts.
